Our favorite gift for Star Wars fans

The LEGO Star Wars Death Star Trench Run Diorama set and its box.
Lego

The LEGO Star Wars Death Star Trench Run Diorama showcases one of the most iconic scenes in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which we’ve ranked in first place among all of the Star Wars movies. Once you’ve completed building this Lego set, you’ll get a snapshot of Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing as it flies through the surface of the Death Star while being pursued by Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced fighter and two more TIE fighters. The diorama even comes with a plaque with the quote “The Force is strong with this one,” which Darth Vader said about Luke Skywalker during the chase scene. The LEGO Star Wars Death Star Trench Run Diorama, originally, $70, is down to $53 from Best Buy for savings of $17.

Our favorite gift for Harry Potter fans

Harry Potter's journey begins with the Hogwarts Express, and here's your chance to give a 1:32 scale model of the iconic train as a gift. The LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors' Edition includes the steam train itself, along with its engine, coal tender, and a three-room passenger carriage that depicts three classic scenes from the films. The train can be set in motion by spinning the lever at the top, and it comes with 20 minifigures of Harry Potter characters. Netflix free trial: Can you stream for free in 2023?
A hand points a remote at a TV display a Netflix logo screen.

Almost no one would argue that Netflix is not the godfather of streaming. It basically started the entire movie streaming concept and reinvented it when it launched its first original program, House of Cards. Even though the streaming market is a bit more crowded now, Netflix still has some unbeatable programming. Netflix prices have risen over the last few years, and there are some hints that it might keep rising. If you're thinking about joining or rejoining the streaming giant but aren't quite sure, you're probably looking for a free trial. We've collected all the information you need to know on how to save some money with a new Netflix account.
Is there a Netflix free trial?

Just as there's no Disney Plus free trial, you're out of luck if you're hoping to find a Netflix free trial on offer right now. There was a 30-day free trial in the past but Netflix scuttled it a couple of years ago, and we don't anticipate it coming back any time soon. Unlike some other streaming services (the excellent 30-day Hulu free trial comes to mind), Netflix doesn't appear to feel obliged to run free-trial offers. That's a tough break for the "try before you buy" crowd, but the sad truth is that, like Disney+, Netflix has a pretty captive audience and doesn't really need to do much to entice people to sign up. The good news is that Netflix has flexible plans, allowing you to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time with no punitive fees. There are no contracts or commitments to worry about if you decide the service isn't for you, or just want to take a break for awhile.

ESPN+ Free Trial: Can you sign up for free in 2023?
The ESPN+ logo on a black background.

Thanks to online streaming support, live sports have never been easier to watch. Conventional sports, races, and fights are all available online, and one of the best streaming services for this purpose is ESPN+. The sports broadcaster launched this premium streaming platform in 2018, and it's since become the go-to app for streaming sports events like UFC fights, Major League Baseball games, boxing bouts, and much more, along with offering a ton of on-demand sports content in the form of exclusive shows, films, and documentaries. It's a paid service, though, so it's only natural that you might want to give an ESPN+ free trial a spin before you commit to paying. If that applies to you, keep reading, because we've got everything you need to know right here -- including several ways you can save and maybe even get ESPN+ for free.
Is there an ESPN+ free trial?

The short answer is there is no ESPN+ free trial as of now. That's in contrast to most streaming services, which usually either offer a trial period (the 30-day Hulu free trial being one of the best) or a pared-down free streaming plan such as those offered by Sling TV and Peacock. ESPN offered a free trial back in 2018 when it launched its premium streaming platform, but that was sadly short-lived. If you're looking for a way to try ESPN+ for free (or at least save some money on your subscription), though, then don't give up just yet -- you have some options.
