How to play co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Despite being native to Pandora, your character in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora isn’t familiar with the world or its creatures by the time you step foot into the lush and vibrant world. Having been raised by the Resources Development Administration (RDA), your character reacts with a sense of awe and fear. But you don’t have to brave the dangers of the planet, not to mention the militaristic RDA, alone. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora lets you bring a friend along to help beat the humans back and save your planet from their pollution. Here’s how to get a game of co-op started.

How to start co-op

Ubisoft

Before you can play co-op, both you and your partner will need to play solo for a few missions. Until you have both completed “The Aranahe Clan” quest, which does take a few hours of play, the feature will be locked.

Once that’s done, the option is still a little obscured. To find it, pause the game and hit left on your D-pad to go to the Systems menu. From here, Co-Op is the first option above Photo Mode, Settings, and Ubisoft Connect. Just select co-op and you will be prompted to invite one friend to join your game.

The Sarentu Totems are optional locations you can seek out across the frontier, but finding one is just the beginning. Once you do, you need to find a very specific place to view it from in order to unlock the secrets it holds. When you encounter a Sarentu Totem, you will find a large, spiral-shaped object usually on a cliffside or overlook of some sort. Your only objective when you approach one is to find the correct spot to stand at and view it from by following "markers." These markers aren't going to show up on your HUD or even be highlighted with your special Na'vi vision.

You may be a native Na'vi in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but having been raised by the Resources Development Administration (RDA), your character is as new to the alien world od Pandora as any human would be. That, of course, means you'll be starting from scratch to build up your skills and abilities to not only survive the natural flora and fauna, but also fight back against the invading RDA forces. Skill points are not as easy to come by in this game as others, and after the first one or two skills in a tree, they become quite expensive to unlock. The skill tree is separated into five categories that each relate to different aspects of surviving and thriving on Pandora. These consist of Survivor, Warrior, Hunter, Maker, and Rider. Rider is initially hidden and only unlocks after you get your ikran as part of the main story.
