We’re in the golden age of superhero video games with the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and an upcoming Wolverine game, but even some lower-profile heroes are starting to get some love. The vampire hunter Blade is one of the next Marvel characters to get the spotlight, and the game will be brought to us by none other than Arkane Lyon. Known for the Dishonored series and the recent hit Deathloop, this team has the potential to give us a very different style of game that suits the character perfectly. Time to sharpen your teeth, don your coat and glasses, and stalk the streets of Paris for all the details on the upcoming Blade.

Release date speculation

It will probably be a while before Blade sees the light of day. Not only was there no date or even window given, but Studio director Dinga Bakaba posted the following on X (formerly Twitter): “We’re going to stay silent for a while …” Expect to wait until at least 2025 for this one, if not longer.

Despite no platforms being confirmed in any marketing material thus far, we know that developer Arkane Lyon is under Bethesda, and thus Xbox Games Studios, which at least heavily implies that it will be an Xbox console exclusive. A PC version is almost certain as well, but PlayStation players are more than likely going to be left out of the vampire-killing fun.

Marvel’s Blade | Announcement Trailer | The Game Awards 2023

The reveal trailer for Blade was a surprise announcement at The Game Awards 2023. It sets the scene in Paris, where Blade is relaxing while getting a shave during a lockdown. When the siren goes off, he suits up with his glasses, knives, guns, grenades, and, most importantly, his sword. The teaser ends with Blade remarking, “the night’s just getting started.”

The reveal was purely cinematic, but once again, Bakaba shared some more info on the development of Blade. According to him, Blade will be a “single-player immersive sim hybrid with all the shit we love!” The trailer showed it will take place in Paris, but we also know it will be a third-person game, which will be a first for the studio. The immersive sim component suggests an open world, or at least a large hub world, which we will be able to explore however we choose. We can reasonably predict to use Blade’s iconic sword, plus various firearms and other vampire-slaying tools, but until gameplay is officially shown, it is pure speculation.

If there's one creator you can count on for creating the types of games you never see coming, it's Hideo Kojima. After his exodus from Konami and the formation of his own studio, he directed his first non-Metal Gear game in decades with Death Stranding. He has already confirmed that a sequel is in the works but has now revealed a second project. Release window

OD has no release window at this time and will arrive after DS2, which also doesn't have a release date. Considering how little was shown, OD probably won't arrive before 2026 at the earliest if we had to make an educated guess.
Platforms
While no platforms are officially confirmed for OD, it is being made in partnership with Xbox Game Studios, meaning that it is assuredly coming to the Xbox Series consoles. Whether or not it will be a console exclusive, and if so, for how long, is unknown.

Light No Fire: release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and more

Hello Games burst onto the scene when it debuted its first project No Man's Sky, at the old Spike Game Awards. That makes it fitting that the studio's next project was also revealed at the new iteration of the awards show, The Game Awards 2023. Light No Fire may not be trying to recreate the entire universe like its predecessor, and instead, it is remaining grounded on Earth, though it appears to be just as ambitious. The shift from sci-fi to fantasy opens up a brand new avenue for Hello Games to experiment with new systems and mechanics. Of course, given the history of No Man's Sky's pre-release marketing and misleading statements on what was and was not possible at launch, some are a little weary of buying in too early. Here's everything we know for sure about Light No Fire.
Release date speculation

There is no confirmed release date or window for Light No Fire. Hello Games has suggested that it doesn't want an overly long marketing cycle for this title, so it is possible it could come out in 2024, but we will have to await an official announcement.

Haunted Chocolatier: release date speculation, news, trailer, and more

In late 2021, indie developer Eric Barone (commonly known as ConcernedApe online), famed for single-handedly creating the magical Stardew Valley, officially announced that he was developing an all-new game. That game is called Haunted Chocolatier, and it looks like a whole other world of fun, casual simulation where you find out the secret desires of every single member of your community.

Details are still limited -- “I just like working in secret,” ConcernedApe reported in his last official progress update -- but don’t worry, plenty of info has already dropped, and we’ll keep you updated about every detail so you know what’s going on.
